The first release by Horses’ current lineup, Brotherly Love is the result of a year of touring and name calling. Composed of two ‘loud’ tracks recorded at Chemical Sound in Toronto and three ‘rootsy’ tracks recorded in our practice space, this EP is a nice little representation of what we’ve been working on for the last while. The latter three tracks were originally intended to fill space on a tour EP but revealed another side of the band, a sound stemming from post-show drunken hotel parties and slurry late-night sing-alongs. Though we’ve been traveling with the Brotherly Love EP for a few months now, it was never ‘released’. We cut paper sleeves, burned discs, packaged them in our living rooms, and put them in a shoe box. Now, though, a proper release is happening as our good friends at JUICEBOXdotcom agreed to give it a home. We are very excited.
